I have spent most of the 50 years in close proximity to Alton. When I started teaching, it was in District 100 - Jersey/Greene Counties and I retired from there. In 1978, I married Paul Vann Brown who was principal at Grafton/Dow centers and we lived in Grafton for 28 years. I bought a duplex in Jerseyville and moved August, 2007, and I presently reside there. I have been active with Daughters of the American Revolution and am presently Illinois State Vice Regent. Traveling is a passion and in October, 2009 I went with 10 friends on a Greek Isles tour. Absolutely the most thrilling moment was climbing "The Acropolis."

This is such a shock to me.  Carolyn cheerlead with me and we did a lot of things together during high school.  What a nice person she was.   Perry Coon's described her perfectly.  The big smile and always happy.  So glad she touched my life.  I sure didn't know she lived in Jerseyville.  So close we lived to each other and never saw one another in the last 10 years.  A lesson to all of us to reach out and tell those people that mean alot to you how much you enjoyed their friendship.  I loved her like a sister.  Cindy Kodros Garvey

I am so sorry to hear of Carolyn's death..I so enjoyed our jr. high and high school friendhip. We shared pizza parties,slumber parties,and many fun times.  Rest in peace dear friend.

Happy birthday ... and many more. Carolyn Miller Brown Congrats for all your achievements in the health area. Lots of challenges facing us as we transition to new unknowns.
