I remember Carl form our classes at AHS.  Rest in peace Carl.Didn't he have a brother named Ed who was a year ahead of us? Or maybe he was a cousin.

What a Great Guy Carl was! Sorry to see him go. Prayers to all the family, I know he will be missed. Met Carl at East Jr., and played football with him through high school. As Mike Smith said, he had an older brother, Ed, who was a great basketball player a year or two ahead of Carl. Carl was the strong silent type. He showed what he was made of, didn't need to talk about it. Always thought a lot of him. It was good to see him at some of our reunions. He would play golf with our small group of has beens. May he rest in peace.  Bill Kodros

I always considered Carl more than a classmate, a friend. During our sophomore year, I lived up the hill from him. He was easy to be with, honest, and forthcoming. I can't recall ever hearing him talked negatively about anyone. No doubt he will be missed by his loved ones and close friends. When I read about classmates we lose, it causes me to reflect on my time(s) with them, some I knew better than others, of course. When I read of Carl's passing I just looked at the announcement and paused. After a while I prayed for his family, confident that he has been welcomed in eternal life with the Lord.

I recently heard that Carl had passed but could not find an obituary to send.  So difficult to hear of each of our beloved classmates passing on to eternal rest.  For those of us who are left we have been turly blessed with long lives but of great importance we also have the fond memories of those we have known over the many years.  Carl Crumer and his older brother Ed were young gentelmen and great athletes providing memorable sports moments for our Redbirds.  I had lost track of Carl but am not at all surprised to see from his obituary that his life continued in the kind gentle way we knew him to be in high school.
