Michael "Mike" Blakely, 81, died on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at his home in Godfrey. Born in 1942, he was the son of William and Georgie (Fuller) Blakely. He retired as a self-employed accountant. Mike is survived by his wife, Janet, son Greg (Dee), daughter, Janeen, stepchildren, Brian and Jaime (Trent), granddaughters, Emily (Barron) and Amelia (Kitt), step grandchildren, Will and Emma, great-granddaughter, Lucy, and a brother, Stephen (Susan).
Visitation will be from 1:00-3:00 pm on Monday, January 15, 2024 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton, with prayer service following at 3:00 pm.

From the pictures of Mike, you can see the boy in the man. His obituary tells very little about his life. Perhaps family and friends can fill us in a bit more in the comments. We mourn all our lost classmates. Those we knew well, and those we didn't. We find comfort in happy memories. May memory comfort his loved ones.
