Gerald H. "Bud" Evans, 31, of  608 Milton Road, Alton was pronounced dead on arrival at 4:25 p.m., Thursday, February 7, 1974, at Alton Memorial Hospital. He was born February 19, 1942, the son of  Doris and Gerald H. Evans, Sr.

He was an electrician at McDonnell-Douglas Aircraft for 13 years. He was Boy Scoutmaster of Troop 3 at Cherry Street Baptist Church.

Surviving are his widow, the former Jeanette Speece, whom he married July 3, 1968; his father, Gerald Sr. of Godfrey; his mother, Mrs. Doris Burger of Alton; three sons, Jeffrey Allen, Jason Edward and Ronald Howard, all at home; a brother, Jerry of Godfrey; two sisters, Mrs. Carol West of Wood River and Mrs. Martha Harlow of Los Angeles, Calif.

Funeral services were conducted Monday, February 11, at Gent Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Bowling officiating. Friends were able to call after 2 p.m. Sunday the 10^th at the funeral home.
