Donald Lee Schrumpf, 71, died at 7:12 a.m. Friday, Dec. 6, 2013, at his home in Alton.Born April 4, 1942, in Alton, he was the son of the late Delmar Raymond and Helen Elizabeth (Hair) Schrumpf.

 

Mr. Schrumpf recently retired after 49 years as a financial planner with MONY and AXA Equitable. He was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church in Alton and the Exchange Club.

 

On July 11, 1964, he married the former Diana Fay Yust at the First Presbyterian Church in Alton. She survives.

 

Also surviving is a daughter Melissa Peipert (Steve) of Ellisville, Mo., a son, Bradford Donald Schrumpf (Silvie) of Beaver Creek, Ohio, five grandchildren, a brother, Delmar Schrumpf Jr. of Spring Grove, Ill., and two sisters, Betty Roberts of Maitland, Fla., and Joyce Goethe (Dave) of Godfrey.

 

A celebration of his life will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 9, 2013, at Main Street United Methodist Church in Alton. Reverend Jame Hahs, Rev. Charles Schwaab and Rev. Nicole Cox will officiate.

Memorials may be made to Main Street United Methodist Church in Alton.

Gent Funeral Home in Alton is in charge of arrangements.
