LARNIE "BOB" HENSON JR.
Larnie Robert "Bob" Henson Jr., 73, passed away at 8 a.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2015, at his home in Alton.
Born on Sept. 6, 1941, in Alton, he was the son of Larnie Robert Henson Sr. and Annie Mae (Rhoades) Henson.
On May 27, 1978, he married Cheryl Myers in Alton. She survives.
Mr. Henson was employed by Owens-Illinois Glass Mold Shop for 30 years, retiring in 1996. He attended Cornerstone Church in Bethalto. Bob loved music and in years past was the guitarist in local bands, The Lancers and Rock Foundation.
Along with his wife, he is survived by two sisters, Doris Fink of Alton and Shirley Vassar (Henry) of Godfrey, one sister-in-law, Carolyn Schmidt of Godfrey, three stepchildren, Stephanie Connors (Tom) of Shipman, Don Ivester and John Lawson, both of Alton; two stepgrandchildren, Thomas and Logan Connors; three nieces, Chris Fink, Vanessa Vassar and Kelley Schultz (Dan), and three nephews, Joe Fink (Dana), Darren Plopper and John McLain.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Ron Schmidt, and Harold Fink.
There will be no services.
Gent Funeral Home in Alton is in charge of arrangements.
