Jo Ann Huntsman obituary

Jo Ann Huntsman, 81, died at 11:25 a.m. on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at her residence. She was born March 8, 1942 in Alton the daughter of the late George and Ellen (Stone) Goodwin. She was a member of First Christian Church in Alton and worked for many years as a secretary for Union Electric. Jo Ann enjoyed her family, reading, sewing, spending time with her cards friends and traveling. In 1962 she married Elmer "Pres" Huntsman and he preceded her in death on October 5, 2008. Surviving are her special friend, Dave Dunnagan, one son, Michael "Mike" Huntsman (Sheri) of Wood River, six grandchildren, Danielle Conn (James), James Huntsman (Theresa), Zachary Huntsman (Jessica), Nicholas Huntsman (Alexis), Justin Huntsman, Austin Huntsman, and five great grandchildren, Andrew Kallal, Angelina Conn, Sofia Huntsman, Zoey Huntsman and Dean Huntsman. Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one son, Kevin Huntsman and three brothers and one sister, Ray Goodwin, Ron Goodwin, Dick Goodwin and Viola Goodwin. Visitation will be Saturday, January 27, 2024 from 8:30 a.m. until time of funeral service at 10:30 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Alton. Reverend Jim Johnston will officiate. Burial will be at Upper Alton Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Gent Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Sweet, sweet Jo Anne! I'm tearing up just writing this. I wish I'd known you better in high school. Your presence on this site, and your ever encouraging, uplifting presence for the class is much appreciated. Rest in Peace. 

{The obit in the Telegraph left the "e" off her name. I wish this to not be our Jo Anne, but I'm afraid it is.)

yes Marilyn that is our Jo Anne. You are so right she was a sweet and wonderful person. She helped on the reunion committee, she will be missed by all who knew her.
