Sandra K. “Sandy” Beattie
Sandra K. “Sandy” Beattie, age 74, of Alton, passed away Saturday, June 3, 2017, at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born November 24, 1942, in Alton, the daughter of Nelson G. and Thelma (Rumple) Davis. Sandy retired from Illinois Bell/AT&T in 1992, relocated to the Alton area, and began working at Foxes Grove. She enjoyed cross stitching, and loved Hershey, her dog.
She is survived by a sister, Cathy Doyle; and a nephew, Robert Doyle.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Robert N. Davis.
Visitation will be held Friday June 9, 2017, from 10:00 to 11:00 am at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton.
She will be buried at Valhalla Memorial Park immediately after the visitation.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to 5 A’s, or to St. Jude’s Childrens’ Research Hospital.

Larry Donahue notified me of Sandy's death and commented that "I remember her from school, in Mr. McCormicks music class we would divide the room in half and have a contest on who could name the song that Mr. Mac would play , Sandy could get the songs on about the second note, she was amazing at it." As always we are deeply saddened by the loss of another classmate.

I knew Sandy a long time we went through grade school and were in Brownies and Girl Scouts and all the way through high school. She was a really nice person . So sorry to hear about her death.
