Hey Classmates

May I encourage you to listen to a word of encouragement that the Holy Spirit placed on our hearts during a recent trip that my friend Don Ware and I made to the Tampa Florida area. While there we ministered to the members of two of the churches in that area.

To watch this presentation, you will first need to log into your Facebook account and then copy the link I have included below and past it in the top URL window of your web browser and then press the "enter" key on your keyboard. When the next screen is displayed, click on the "Videos" window with the subtitle "Don Ware was there".

When the actual video of our presentation is displayed then click on the time line at the bottom of the video screen at a time of "26:22" (26 minutes and 22 seconds into the video). There the pastor of the church is introducing my co-worker Don Ware and I to speak to the group. I speak first for 13 minutes and then Don will speak (43:00). After Don speaks, he then ministers to the needs of those in attendance with gifts of healing by the Holy Spirit (1:14). At the end of his praying for those in need of healing (1:39) then those who received a healing from the Lord Jesus give their testimony of what they received.

May I encourage you to listen to a " Dad's Family Meeting " audio message that I have prepared. The message is the first of a series of messages in "The Milk of the Word" as listed in your bible in Hebrews 6:1-3. These six basic "Oracles of God" are the fundamental building blocks in our spiritual growth according to the words of both Peter (1 Peter 2:2) and Paul (1 Cor 3:1-3). Here is the link to the first of this series of messages at the following website (copy and paste it in the URL heading of your web browser):

If you would like to continue with each of these successive audio messages, send me your email request and I will send you the links to each of the links that follow. I encourage you to share these messages with your family and loved ones. My email address is 'sonriseministry@yahoo.com'.

God bless you each one,

Gary

PS - May I also share with you this recent experience i had?

After graduation I met and married my beautiful wife and mother of our six children, Annette. I soon found out that she is an excellent cook and I gained an additional 125 pounds of extra weight since my slim 155 lb HS weight. I carried this weight for most of my adult life until our 50 year reunion when I joined the Weight Watcher (WW) program locally and dropped 60 of those extra pounds in six months.

I gained back 20 pounds after leaving the program in 2010 but re-entered WW last September. Since then I have lost another 40 pounds and am now down to 200 and reducing.

I would add that it was not only learning how to use the WW tools that helped me with this weight loss, but equally important then and now is my daily prayer to God asking Him for help to enable me to apply what I have learned from WW to my daily food choices, portions and exercise.

I must say that today I truly feel physically like I did back in HS when I really did not know what was ahead in my life regarding my eating and lack of exercise. WW is a worthy tool and may I encourage any of you who would like to trim down to give it a try. And don't forget the most important companion in that effort....Jesus Christ.

God bless

School Story:

I remember some really great times with our class at AHS. There were the Marching Band practices in the old football field behind the Career Building, the noon lunches in the cafeteria, and the great feeling as I left the main building and walked down those long steps and viewed the parking lot full of student's cars.

I remember the great times on Friday night dances at the Masonic Lodge in Upper Alton and the afternoon walk from the High School to Kerrs drug store to have the daily vanilla coke and share the day's events with our fellow classmates. The half time shows at the football stadium and cheering the basketball team on to one more basket at West Jr. High basketball court were always good.

And then there was Mr. "WWW's" math class, especially Geometry that was important to me. He sat me next to one of the cute cheerleaders and I made up my mind that I was not going to let her think I was a dummy in math so I studied really hard and made my only "A" in math. The cheerleader was not impressed, but I went on to use what I had learned in that class to become a draftsman and later a mechanical design engineer.

Thanks Mr. WWW. And Thanks fellow classmates for a memorable AHS experience.

Happy Birthday Judy. I see that you are involved with farm management. I am impressed. I married a "farmer's daughter", Annette, and we have been living and "managing" her family farm for the last 22 years since my retirement. I must admit, though I am living out my childhood dream of living on a farm, I am fast finding out that just because a plant or grass turns brown that does not mean that it is dead. And as to managing my wife's family farm, you better believe that what ever is done on this farm it must be done exactly the way her Mom and Dad taught her that it should be done. I must admit that growing up as a city kid, we enjoyed making fun of those farm kids. But now it is their turn to get even. I am now understanding why they always walk with their heads looking down... I think you know what I mean. And by the way, I still remember the party you were hosting at your home when I was called ahd invited to come over and perform hypnosis on you and Roger Cook. When I got you into the "trance" and then snapped my finger for you to come out of the trance... and you did not,...for a few minutes, I realized then that I was messing around with something that was far bigger than I had imagined. I do ask for your forgiveness and pray that anything that i may have introduced you to would be erased, both then and now.. After that time I never messed with hipnosis again. Whatever the case I did learn my lessonl And Judy, may I also encourage you and your family to be in right relatioinship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and not be afraid of the current events in which God is shaking the heaven and the Earth according to Hebrews 12. It is not the will of the Father that any should perish, but that all may be able to be with Hiim eternally. I do hope you and your family also rest in that assurance of knowiing Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior. And in so doing we will see many more days in this age and in the age to come life eternal. Hope to see you at the reunion, Sincerely Gary Anderson

Greetings fellow classmates. As I was viewing the lists of our members who have departed this life I noticed an average loss of one classmate per year until 1995 (age 53). Since then the rate of loss has increased to an average of 5 deaths per year which has varied from a low 3 to 8 per year. If we consider an average life expectancy for men and women of 82 and 86 years respectively, then this would mean that those previously listed loss rates will soon begin to increase to an average of 4 to 5 times the rate until now. this means we will soon increase to losses of 20 to 25 of our classmates each year.

Why am I writing these numbers to each of us?

Whether we are given one more day, a month, a year or a decade of years, we must soon face the real test question of our life.....Where do I go from here and am I prepared for that change in my lifetime? I sincerely ask you to pick up your Bible and begin to read the words spoken to us by Jesus beginning in each of the first four books of the New Testament. And remember what our English Lit teachers told us in class, "As you read, ask yourself the questions, ' Why did the author write this and what is the message they are trying to give to me as I am reading their words?' ". If Jesus is the author of those words written in your Bible, then as the author, He is the one to ask these questions.

And as you ask of Him keep in mind the words of James 1:5-6, " if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But he must ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind." And also the words in Hebrews 11:6, "... without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him." And finally these words from Romans 10:17 " So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ". May I invite you to click on my photo icon above to read of my own testimony about how I met this Jesus in my walk through this life. Certainly He is Lord of lords and King of kings.
May God bless you.

Sincerely,

Gary Anderson

In the early summer of 2015 I was diagnosed with Melanoma skin cancer on my ear by a skin cancer doctor at a clinic in Lee's Summit, MO. He urged me to go immediately to the KU Cancer Hospital where they would remove part of my ear and a lymph node and then begin reconstructive plastic surgery to my ear. I was also diagnosed with a second type of skin cancer on my face which the doctor said he could remove by skin graft in his office. Well, this was not at all what I was expecting to hear at this stage in my life. And as I pondered what my decision would be concerning the options I was being presented with, my daughter told me of a good friend of hers who was given the same diagnosis but chose not to have surgery and within ten months he was gone. Needless to say all of my family were very concerned that I should immediately have the surgery. However there was one other option I had to consider. And that option was to ask God to heal me of both of these cancers and grant me full life to every day that He has chosen to give that life to me. I chose God.

Soon I came in contact with a fellow Christian believer who has been gifted with a healing ministry. His name is Don Ware and his ministry is found on the Internet at "gwmkc.org". I went to visit with Don and asked him to pray for my body to be free of the skin cancers which he did. After thanking him I then made arrangements to travel to visit my three younger brothers, perhaps for the last time before I went home to be with the Lord. Although I did not tell them of the purpose of my visit I did leave each of them with a new bible laying on my guest bed after I left. For the next few months I must say it was like the testimony of the three friends of Daniel before being thrown into the fiery furnace (Daniel 3:8-30). They had decided that " ...our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the furnace of blazing fire; and He will deliver us out of your hand, O king. But even if He does not, let it be known to you, O king, that we are not going to serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up. ".

When I returned to the doctor's office three months later and he examined me carefully, in his own words, "I do not see any sign of the melanoma on your ear, however I still see the skin cancer on your cheek". Well I praised God for the healing of the melanoma and believe that if God has healed me of the more aggressive cancer, then certainly He is going to heal me of the second cancer as well. After all, does God only perform half of a miracle and not finish the job? "No He does not!" I resolved within myself and I have continued in faith believing God for my complete healing.

Oh, and by the way, it was after that second visit to the doctor that I decided to join the Weight Watcher program and experience my second miracle. Read about it in the "Q & A" link above, you will be blessed.

If you would like to read more about the roll of the Holy Spirit of God in your bible, may I encourage you to click on the "Photo" icon in the upper right hand corner of this page. Then you will see a display of a card lists many of the scriptures in the bible that tell us about the Holy Spirit and how God has given Him to each of us who would choose to invite Him into our life.

Praise God and thank you Jesus and Don Ware for your promise fulfilled.
