Donna was a member of my Mom's girl scout troop and a member of my circle of friends for most of my school days. She was a lively girl and a good friend to many. I am saddened by her loss. I send my sincere sympathy to other classmates who were close to her and to her brother, Ed Lindsay, who is still in Alton. Thanks to Judy Hershey Melley for the info on where to find a picture. Donna has such a great smile here. It's a great way to remember her.

I am very sad to learn of Donna's passing.  I grew up with Donna.  We both went to Horace Mann Elementary and were in the same class and classes through the years.   I remember being at her house for slumber parties.   The word that comes to mind for Donna is FUN!   As I see her smile on the funeral home website, I recognize it as truly who she was--an incredibly cheery, warm person who loved life and her family.   I remember how much she loved Stan, a happy marriage.   Glad she was near family!   May she rest in peace!   She will be missed!  Judy Hershey Melly, Class of 1960 Alton High School.

I was so sad to learn of Donna's passing.  I contacted her daughter Kelly to give my condolences.  Kelly loved having her Mom live with them and they had so much fun together.  As Judy said, Donna was so much fun and had an unique laugh.  I was on Facebook with Donna and knew of her failing health.  I have a picture of  Donna, Judy Hershey, Judy Boyd and me taken at the 2000 class reunion.  It captures her smile and spirit.  I will send to Marilyn Waide for her to post.  We have lost 2 great classmates recently: Stan McAfoos and Donna.  May we remember the good times we had with them.  Everyone stay safe and healthy.  Priscilla Petersen Harris

The picture Priscilla mentions above. Donna on the left does have such a beautiful smile. They're all beautiful though. Thanks, Priscilla.

I can't add anything to what Marilyn and Judy and Priscilla have written, but I too was always struck by what I thought of as Donna's "bouncy" personality.  I can't imagine her with any expression but a smile on her face.  She was one of the many good people I knew as a child, and I'm very glad she was among my friends.

I can't remember not knowing Donna. We had a wonderful childhood living around the corner from each other, climbing trees, swinging on grape vines and playing basketball together. She always won. We were in the same class, the same Girl Scout troop, and the same church. I miss her outgoing spirit and always will.

I was so sad to hear of Donna's passing. I have so many great memories of Donna starting with Horace Mann. There were so many slumber parties and regular parties; just a lot of fun all the time.I remember one time when we were in middle school at a slumber party at my house , Patty Barton decided to cut Donna's hair. I think we all got in trouble for that one. Anyhow, Donna was so much fun and such a very nice person. She will be missed.

I met Donna when I was in ninth grade and thought she was so happy and always to got a kick out of life.  As time passed and I would meet her at reunions my first impression remained.  Donna was fun to be around.

To Eddie - I would like to extend my sympathy and I know Donna and her goodness and  wonderful laugh will always be with you.  Lorraine Yavorski
