Michael Louis Bishop

December 27, 1941 - July 30, 2011

MICHAEL L. BISHOP, long time Deming resident, passed away at his home Saturday, July 30, 2011 of advanced COPD.

A Memorial Service was held Tuesday August 9, 2011 at 11 o’clock at Baca’s Funeral Chapel with Don Heacox, Lay Vicar of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church officiating.
Cremation has taken place.

Mike was born December 27, 1941 in Alton, Illinois to Richard Bishop and Geraldine (King) Bishop. He graduated from Alton Senior High School and attended the University of Cincinnati in Ohio obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. He married Janet Langer, also from Alton in 1966. They celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary in March. The couple lived in Missouri and Nevada before moving to Deming. They owned and operated The Photo Finish here for 15 years. Mike was also an indirect agent for Verizon wireless before retiring in 2009.

He is survived by his wife, Janet, of the home; son Richard M. Bishop and wife Wendy of Deming; daughters, Helen Fradette of Grand Rapids, MI, Jana Smith and husband George of Garden City, KS, Regina Davis and husband Mason of Paaloni, HI and Rosemary Mitchell and husband, Jon of Las Vegas, NV; 7 grandchildren, Cheyenne and Tristan Bishop, Jonathan, Mary and Dana Fradette, Kaitlynn and Garrett Smith.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Patricia Hammer.
